Kothaligad (Day trek)

Kothaligad is one of the easiest and most beautiful treks in all of Maharashtra. The quick and easy climb for most of the trek makes it very accessible and frequented by first-time trekkers. The cave and the temple carvings date back to the 13th century. Kothaligad is in fact not actually a fort but a sort of watchtower from where the directions were given to know the advancements of the enemy. There are a couple of cannons at the base of the summit and a steep staircase that was carved within the mountain to reach the top. This staircase is the final leg of the summit and is a surreal experience to climb through. Who is excited to scale this Sahyadrian beauty?
